The guests had to walk down the 205-foot ride using stairs as the roller coaster stopped in the air at Cedar Point amusement park.

United States: A terrifying incident unfolded when a Magnum XL-200 roller coaster stopped in the air due to a mechanical problem, and the guests had to walk down the 205-foot ride using stairs at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. The shocking incident occurred on July 31, as reported by Fox News.

Cedar Point’s Director of Communications, Tony Clark, explained that the roller coaster experienced a “standard ride stoppage,” leading to the evacuation of the guests. He clarified that it was akin to a “check engine light” situation, preventing the immediate restart of the coaster.

Videos circulating on social media depicted riders aboard the “Rage” attraction stuck at a 90-degree angle, facing the sky. Adventure Island’s “biggest and best” rollercoaster, known for its thrilling “loops, twists, and flat-out speeds,” left the passengers hanging vertically for approximately 40 minutes before a rescue operation ensured their safe return to the ground.

The Magnum XL-200, which holds the “Guinness Book of World Records” title for its leading edge height, debuted in 1989 and was renowned as the “fastest and steepest” complete circuit coaster globally, according to Cedar Point’s website.

In a separate incident in the UK, eight riders, including an eight-year-old, were left stranded atop a 72-foot-high roller coaster that stalled at Adventure Island theme park in Southend, Essex. As per SkyNews, the distressing occurrence unfolded on July 28.
