Drones are used for the delivery of the products to make life easy for the delivery agents. For the first time, a man who decided to work for Zomato has built a drone for faster deliveries of food.
Sohan Rai, a tech enthusiast, built a drone himself and decided to work for Zomato for a day to implement his idea.
When Rai became a delivery agent for a day, he realised that the delivery partners are facing lot of troubles due to traffic and weather conditions. So he decided to his own drone and coded it to fly without a pilot.
After a few crashes, he was able to make the drone fly on its own without a pilot. He even created a dropping mechanism so he could drop the order to the customer’s house.
In the video shared on Instagram, Rai can bee seen constructing the drone and testing it before using it for deliveries.
“I wanted to put my skills into use and build an autonomous drone which could deliver a pizza directly to a home, without having a pilot. Here, I have built the drone with a lot of Jugaad, and it would be a lot better when it is commercial. This is an experiment and was conducted with safety and precautions,” read the caption of the post.

He received an order from Pizza Hut and to deliver the order, he reached an open place. He then loaded the pizza to the drone to deliver it to the customer. The delivery location was 1.5 kms away. He uploaded the delivery path into the drone and was all set. The drone took off with the pizza and started its pilotless flight. He flew another drone above it to follow it and record its delivery. He then called the customer on phone and told her to come outside to her building compound. The woman was surprised to see her pizza being delivered via a drone.
