The term ‘beggar’ makes us imagine a person with financial instability, wearing torn clothes, and having untidy hair. Additionally, it is commonly related to poverty. But what if we say that at least a few of them are richer than you think? Yes, that’s true.

Bharat Jain, a beggar from Mumbai, holds the title of being the World’s Richest beggar, according to a report by Zee News.

Bharat Jain is one of the beggars who can be seen on the streets of Mumbai. He also has a family that includes a wife, two sons, a brother, and his father. Both of his children were well educated and completed their schooling. Jain has a net worth of Rs 7.5 crore, according to Zee News.

He earns approx. Rs 60,000 to Rs 75,000 every month by begging. He also owns a two-bedroom flat in Mumbai worth Rs. 1.2 crore. He has also ventured into real estate with the ownership of two shops in Thane, which yield a monthly rental income of Rs. 30,000.

Despite his significant wealth, Bharat continues to beg on the streets of Mumbai. Jain earns almost Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 per day after spending 8–10 hours a day. Reportedly, he begs at prominent locations such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station (CSMT) or Azad Maidan.

Further, he also owns a 1BHK duplex in Parel, where he lives comfortably with his family. His family owns and operates a stationery store. Additionally, Bharat’s family members consistently advise him to cease begging, but he disregards their counsel and persists in this line of work.
