Bargarh: In yet another incident of crime against women in the State, a widow was raped inside her house in Katapali village under Bargarh Town Police Station area here.
The incident which took place on December 16 was reported to police by the victim two days later, post which an investigation has been launched.
As per the complaint, the victim was asleep in her room when the accused identified as one Chandan Bag of the same locality broke entered to her house and overpowered her. Later he outraged the modesty of the victim.
Before leaving the spot Chandan also threatened the woman to kill if she discloses the rape to anybody.
Cases under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC have been lodged against the accused who is on the run.
