Pipili: In a shocking incident, a woman’s body was found in a sack in Pipili of Odisha on Thursday, said reliable reports. According to latest reports, the body of a woman was recovered from the bag with her wrists and ankles tied. The dead body of the young woman was found on the banks of the Daya river near Pipili block under Kanas in Nuagaon in Puri district of Odisha.
The body was found in a tied condition inside a tied sack. Late at night, the sack had floated and reached the Daya river bank.
This morning the local people spotted the body near the river and were panic stricken. They immediately informed the local police, said reports. The Gadishagoda police arrived at the spot and seized the sack containing the body and cordoned off the area.
After opening the bag, it was found that the young woman’s hands and legs were found tied with plastic wrap, said police sources. It is suspected that someone killed the young woman and threw her away into the river late at night.
Various questions such as, who killed the woman put her in a sack and threw it into the river? When did the gruesome act take place? Was the woman sexually assaulted before being killed? have been raised both by the police and the panic stricken locals of the area.
The police have started an investigation into these aspects. The body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of death. The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained. Detailed probe in this matter is underway by the police, reports in this regard awaited.
