Malkangiri: In yet another shocking act of witchcraft in Odisha, people slit man’s throat thinking him to be a sorcerer in Malkangiri.

Reports say that, the murder was on suspicion of a man being a sorcerer. The incident has been reported from Malkangiri Adams police station in Tandapalli village in Nrishansam.

The murder of a man took place on the suspicion of witchcraft in Odisha. The deceased has been identified as Lakshma Kawas of Tandapali village. Suspecting Lakshma to be a witchcraft practitioner, some miscreants killed him with a sharp weapon and threw his body into the river.

However as Lakshma did not return home last night, the family searched for him. After seeing the body floating in the river this morning, locals informed the local police.

On receiving the information, Malkangari SDPO Shin Patel, police team including police station officials went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the district head hospital (DHH). Adams police station is investigating the case based on the family’s complaint.
