TPWODL JE Ranjan Kumar Das apprehended on bribery charges
Odisha Vigilance today apprehended the Junior Engineer of TP Western Odisha Distribution Ltd.(TPWODL) posted at Bargaon Electrical Section of Sundergarh district while demanding and accepting bribe.
Sundergarh: Odisha Vigilance today apprehended the Junior Engineer of TP Western Odisha Distribution Ltd.(TPWODL) posted at Bargaon Electrical Section of Sundergarh district while demanding and accepting bribe.
The TPWODL JE has been identified as Ranjan Kumar Das. He was taking a bribe Rs 30,000 from a complainant for facilitating his appointment as an Electrical Helper on outsourcing basis.
Das also reportedly threatened him to appoint another person in his place, if demanded bribe is not given. The entire bribe amount Rs 30,000 has been recovered from him and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Das from DA angle.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.33 dtd.19.12.2023, U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Das, JE.
