Tiger spotted roaming in Gajapati’s Mohana, spark panic among villagers

A tiger was spotted at Jodipathar village of Gajapati district, due to which there was an atmosphere of panic among the people

Mohana: A tiger was spotted at Jodipathar village under Mohana block of Gajapati district, due to which there was an atmosphere of panic among the people in the area.

The villagers are spending sleepless night after a video in which a tiger is spotted roaming around the village has gone viral.

According to reports, two students spotted tiger at around 11.45 pm on July 27. One of the student captured the movement of the tiger in his mobile phone. However, after seeing the animal, the dogs started barking and it went away from the spot.

The villagers said that no animals and chickens have been harmed in surrounding areas and near Jodipathar village. Everyone in the village are in state of fear and they are locking up their doors and goes off to sleep early in the evening.

Chandragiri forest officer Subash Chandra Behera on asked about the tiger being spotted in the village said that there are no records of tigers in the Chandragiri forest areas in the past three years.
