Sri Mandir to be closed for Snana Purnima preparations

Puri: With auspicious Snana Purnima falling on coming Monday, Sri Mandir’s servitors have announced the closure of the temple from 11.30 am onwards on Sunday.

The world famous Rath Yatra or the chariot festival will be celebrated on July 4. While the chariot construction is already underway, the holy Snana Purnima will be undertaken by Sri Jagannath’s sevayats tomorrow.

The Daitapati’s are the official bodyguards or Sriangarakshak of the holy trinity. The servitors have made an entry into the temple to being the special rituals. The holy trinity will put on a new avatar- Badasinghar Besa.

Servitors Kotha Suansia have also begun their preparations for the special rituals undertaken by them for the Ratna Singhasan. Similarly, from tomorrow Senapata Lagi rituals will also start.
