Sex racket busted in Odisha’s Sambalpur; 7 youths arrested, 5 girls rescued

Sambalpur: Ainthapalli police busted a sex racket in Shakti Nagar of the district on Friday and arrested seven youths and rescued five girls from the spot.

Acting on a tip-off, police along with a special squad of district police conducted a raid on a house and busted the flesh tread.

Speaking about the incident, Ainthapalli PS IIC Chintamani Pradhan said, “We had an input from a reliable source who had informed that Illegal activities were going on in the house in Shakti Nagar. During the raid some of the arrested persons were also found in a compromising position.”

“We rescued seven girls and arrested five men from the spot. Besides, we recovered some objectionable items from the house. Further verification is on,” he added.

On the other hand, two of the five youths, who have been arrested, alleged that police have arrested them incriminating them in the case. “We were passing through the road close to the house while police was raiding the house. And they forcefully detained us,” they said. They are assumed to be from outside the state as they were speaking in Hindi.
