Rainfall to continue in state for next 4 days, Yellow warning issued to 6 districts

Rainfall is likely to continue in Odisha for the next four days, with Southern Odisha experiencing heavy to very heavy downpour today.

Bhubaneswar: Due to an active low pressure over the Bay of Bengal, Odisha continues to experience moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas across the state. The low pressure is currently centered over the Northern Andhra-Southern Odisha coast adjoining the North Western Bay of Bengal.

Forecasts predict that rainfall is likely to continue in Odisha for the next four days, with areas in the Southern Odisha experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall today. The meteorological department has issued an Orange warning to Malkangiri and Koraput. The districts are likely to experience very heavy rainfall today until 8:30 AM.

Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued to six other districts in view of experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. These districts include Nuapada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabrangpur, and Balangir.

Odisha monsoon this year has had the worst impact on Malkangari district so far. The continuous heavy rainfall has caused a disruption to the daily life of the people. The rainfall has caused water flowing over several poles, bringing traffic to a standstill.
