Bhubaneswar: The Commercial Tax Department of Odisha government conducted raids at various furniture showrooms across Odisha on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) officials have conducted the raids at 15 iron and wood furniture furniture showrooms in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Balasore, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Bargarh, Bhawanipatna and Berhampur districts for non-payment or fraud in case of GST taxes.
Simultaneous raids are underway by eight teams have been formed with more than 40 police officers at 30 places of 14 furniture dealers including three places in Bhubaneswar such as Basudev Wood Furniture, Furniture Godown and Chirag Industries.
