Patients in Odisha will now reach hospitals in 20 minutes as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated 349 new ambulances to the people today.

Bhubaneswar: Patients in Odisha will now reach hospitals in 20 minutes as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated 349 new ambulances to the people today. Earlier, it was taking 30 minutes for the ambulance to brining the patients to the hospitals.

While dedicating the new ambulances at a function in Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, the chief minister said, “We believe that every life is precious. Our efforts will continue to provide best of health services to the people as per our policy.”

Out of the 349 new ambulances, 279 have been included in 108 Ambulance services and the rest 70 have been provided to medical college and hospitals and district headquarters hospitals (DHHs).

Of the 70 ambulances, 40 are basic life support (BLS) ambulances and 30 are advanced life support (ALS) ambulances. With the dedication of 349 new ambulances, the total number of the emergency vehicles has now risen to 1,366.

Health Minister Niranjan Pujari, Health secretary Shalini Pandit, 5T chairman VK Pandian and other senior officers witnessed the ambulance dedication ceremony.
