Malkangiri : Paddy worth lakhs was reduced to ashes after fire broke out at a threshing yard in Dabguda village under Khairput block in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thursday.
According to reports, the fire mishap occurred at the threshing yard of one Arjun Khilo in the village early this morning. The fire engulfed as many as four stacks of paddy belonging to Khilo.
The family members, with the help of locals, tried to douse the flame but in vain. However, no casualties and injuries have been reported in this connection.
The cause of the fire remained unknown till the last reports came in.
On being informed, local Revenue Inspector (RI) reached the spot to assess the damage of the property due to the fire mishap.
