There has been an Odisha vigilance raid on Junior Clerk in Balasore district, searches are underway at three locations.
Balasore: There has been an Odisha vigilance raid on Junior Clerk in Balasore district, searches are underway at three locations. Today a short while ago, the accused identified as Laxmi Narayan Nath, Junior Clerk in the Office of the Addl. Sub-Collector, Settlement, Balasore has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance.
The Junior Clerk was apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 4,000/- (Rupees four thousand) from a Complainant for giving certified copy of Yadas Sabak record prior to settlement of his paternal land which stands recorded in the name of his father.
Nath, Jr.clerk had demanded bribe Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant to furnish the said certified copy. Today out of the demanded bribe, Nath while accepting bribe 4000/- was nabbed by the Vigilance team. The entire bribe money of Rs. 4000/- has been recovered from the accused Nath and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Nath in Balasore district from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No. 32 dt.30.11.2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Nath, Jr Clerk. Detailed report awaited in this matter.
