Odisha to experience slight rainfall tomorrow, MeT issues yellow warning

Bhubaneswar: Amid the continuous rise in temperature in the state, there lies a possibility of slight rainfall in Odisha. The Regional Meteorological Department has predicted slight to moderate amount of rainfall in Odisha for today and tomorrow.

A yellow warning has been issued to six districts of Odisha for slight downpours for today. These include Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore. Further, another yellow warning has been issued to two districts of Odisha for possibility of rains tomorrow. These include Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Meanwhile, Malkangiri recorded the highest day time temperature on Saturday at 37 degree Celsius. Moreover, 13 cities of Odisha recorded temperature over 35 degree Celsius on Saturday. They were as follows:

  • Bhubaneswar: 36.8 degree Celsius
  • Bolangir: 36.7 degree Celsius
  • Nayagarh: 36.5 degree Celsius
  • Sonepur: 36.2 degree Celsius
  • Titlagarh: 36 degree Celsius
  • Bhawanipatna: 36 degree Celsius
  • Dhenkanal: 35.7 degree Celsius
  • Jagatsinghpur: 35.5 degree Celsius
  • Rayagada: 35.4 degree Celsius
  • Boudh: 35.2 degree Celsius

Meanwhile, areas under coastal and Western Odisha are likely to experience an increase in temperature in the coming days. The maximum temperature in several areas is likely to increase by two to three degree Celsius.
