Odisha: ‘Sagar Kavach 2’ in Paradip, to prevent terrorist incursion from sea route

Paradip: Two-day coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach 2’ in Paradip is underway at the Paradip Coast, said reliable reports on Wednesday. As many as 18 departments of the Centre and the State government are taking part in the exercise to assess the effectiveness of coastal security

According to reports, Sagar Kavach 2 in Paradip is underway. The two-day joint exercise has begun. Various departments of Odisha and West Bengal have participated in the 2-day exercise.

Exercises are underway to counter terrorist attacks on waterways. It is worth mentioning here that, after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the exercise is held twice every year to maintain coordination among all departments to counter terror attacks on waterways.

It includes more than 18 departments say reports. This practice is going on along the 480 km sea beach. Various employees of different departments of Odisha and West Bengal have been divided into two teams, red and blue.

The Red Team will come by sea and plant fake bombs at various sensitive locations on land and the Blue Team will try to capture them. This joint exercise will continue for two days that is  March 20 and March 21, said reliable reports in this regard.
