Boudh: Repolling is underway in two booths in Kantamal of Boudh district in Odisha on Thursday said reliable reports. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had ordered the concerned officials to conduct re-polling at two booths of Kantamal in Boudh district under Kandhamal Lok Sabha constituency of Odisha.
As informed by the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, in a post on X handle, the repolling is being held in Booth No 26, 28 of Kantamal today and people can cast their votes from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Huge crowds of voter shave been seen queuing up to cast their votes since morning. The Collectors of both Boudh and Kandhamal districts had been directed to make voters and candidates of the constituency aware of the repolling.
The Commission decided to conduct repolling following allegation of booth rigging in Kantamal Constituency during the second phase election held on May 20. A huge number of police personnel have been a deployed for smooth and fair polling in the area. Further detailed reports awaited in this regard.
