Bhubaneswar: As many as 36976 candidates who had filed nominations for the three-tier Panchayat election in Odisha, have been elected uncontested. This was informed by the Secretary of State Election Commission (SEC).
According to the data shared by the Odisha SEC, a total of 36523 candidates have been elected uncontested as Ward members while 126 persons have been elected uncontested as Sarpanch.
Likewise, 326 P.S Members and 1 Z.P Member were elected uncontested, informed the SEC office.
Kalpana Pradhan(BJD) declared elected uncontested as Z.P Member from Zone No-2 of Ambabhona Block in Bargarh District.
Elections to the post of Sarpanch, Dhinkia G.P in Jagatsinghpur District and 23 Ward Member will be held in 2023, added the State Election Commission. The tenure of Dhinkia GP will be over in 2023 as elections were held in 2018.
