Odisha monsoon update: Low pressure over BOB to cause heavy rainfall from July 19

The low pressure is likely to intensify into a depression, thereby causing heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state from July 20.

Bhubaneswar: The state continues to experience consistent rainfall as the result of a prevailing low pressure and the ongoing monsoon season.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall for the next four days. Forecasts also suggest the formation of another low pressure over the Bay of Bengal on July 19. That is likely to cause intensified rainfall in several areas across the state.

The low pressure is likely to intensify into a depression, thereby causing heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state from July 20 onwards. A yellow warning has been issued to 15 districts across the state for heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

This ongoing Odisha monsoon season, the state has experienced a deficit in rainfall. While Devgarh has recorded the highest amount of rainfall, Kalahandi has recorded the lowest.
