Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to develop over the Andaman Sea on November 26, predicts Indian Meteorological department. Forecasts suggest that the low pressure might intensify into a depression on November 27.

A cyclonic circulation is likely to enter the Andaman Sea and its adjoining regions by November 25. Under the influence of which, a low pressure system is likely to develop by November 26. The low pressure system over the Andaman sea is likely to move westward and north-westward and develop into a depression over South-east Bay of Bengal around November 27.

Due to the impact of the Easterly winds, weather in coastal Odisha has remained mild cold. Forecasts predict little to no variation in night time temperatures for the next four to five days. Skymet Weather predicts the possibility of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. The possibility of the low-pressure area intensifying into a cyclone is not to be ignored.

However, it remains difficult to predict anything accurately at the moment. The next 48 to 72 hours are crucial. In case of the formation of a cyclonic storm, it will be the sixth this monsoon and named ‘Michaung’ by Myanmar.
