Odisha: Left out from herds, baby elephant reaches village with cattle herds  

It was a surprising yet amusing moment for the residents of the Ganthigadia village in Banarpal Tehsil of Odisha’s Angul district after they found a baby elephant among the cattle herds in the village.

Angul: It was a surprising yet amusing moment for the residents of the Ganthigadia village in Banarpal Tehsil of Odisha’s Angul district after they found a baby elephant among the cattle herds in the village.

The baby elephant along with its herd was reportedly crossing the nearby forest of Ganthigadia village. However, it accidentally got separated and came across with a cattle herds that had gone to the forest for grazing.

Later, the baby pachyderm reached the village along with the cattle herds. After seeing the presence of the wild elephant among the cattle herds, the villagers got surprised and took care of it by providing some food and water to drink.

Later, they informed the local forest officials about the elephant. Soon, the concerned officers reached the village, took the elephant along with them and are taking all possible steps to help the lost baby jumbo to meet its mother.

The baby elephant assumed to be four-month-old, said sources.
