The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has wished all the journalists and conveyed his best wishes on National Press Day

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has wished all the journalists and conveyed his best wishes on National Press Day.

The Chief Minister took to his official X handle to convey his wishes. The CM wrote, “Warm greetings to journalists and media persons on NationalPressDay.”

He further affirmed that, “Free press is the cornerstone of democracy and gives voice to the people.” CM Patnaik further urged, “Let’s pledge to safeguard the independence of the fourth pillar of democracy and empower the people with unbiased information.”

National Press Day is observed on 16 November every year to commemorate a free and responsible press. The Press Council of India started functioning on this day.

It is worth mentioning that the day is significant and helps the press maintain high standards and be unbiased.  Since the year 1997, the Council has commemorated the day. The theme for the  National Press Day 2023 is, media in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
