Odisha BSE all set for HSC Exam-2019

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, is all set to conduct the annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination beginning from tomorrow.

“Preparation for the annual HSC exam has been completed. While 304 nodal centres have been formed, 703 dispatch teams have been kept ready to carry the question papers from the nodal centres to the examination centres. The concerned officials have been directed to send the question booklets to the exam centres between 6 am and 8.30 am,” said BSE exam controller Nihar Ranjan Mohanty.

“The first-phase question papers were sent on February 19 to the nodal centres and five-phase security squads have been formed for supervision of the exam centres. Nobody, including the officials, can carry their cellphones to the exam centres. If they have taken on an emergency basis, they will have to keep them switched off and hand over to the centre superintendent. Only the centre superintendents can carry their phones to the exam centres to use in case of emergency. However, they cannot take the phones to the exam halls,” he added.

Mohanty further said that the students will enter the exam hall by 9 am and in subsequent days they will enter at 9.15 am. There are three layers of seals in the question paper. The first layer of the seal will be opened at 9.30 am in the strong room and the second layer will be opened in the exam hall in the presence of the candidates and two of the candidates will give a certificate. The students will begin the exam after opening the third seal at 10 am.

Speaks about the special arrangements made by the board in the Maoist affected districts of the state, the BSE exam controller said, “19 nodal centres have been set-up at different police stations in Maoist-hit districts like Kandhamal, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

Notably, as many as 5,87,720 students will appear the annual board exam at 2953 centres across the state tomorrow. The exam will conclude on March 8.
