A minor drowned to death while another is critical after falling into a pond near an Anganwadi center in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a minor drowned to death while another is critical after falling into a pond near an Anganwadi centre in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. The incident has come to the fore from Khediapesi village under Mahuladiha police station of the district.
According to reports, the two minors went to the Anganwadi centre on Thursday but later drowned in the pond. It is yet to be ascertained under what circumstances the two minors went near the pond.
Following the incident, the fire service personnel reached the spot and fished out the two minors. However, one minor died due to it and another was critical. The injured minor was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital.
After being informed, police also reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.
