Mental health awareness seminar conducted in Ramadevi University

Inner Wheel Club of Bhubaneswar Elite organized a mental health awareness seminar in Ramadevi women’s University’s auditorium on Friday.

Bhubaneswar: Inner Wheel Club of Bhubaneswar Elite organized a mental health awareness seminar in Ramadevi women’s University’s auditorium on Friday in association with ‘Mo College Abhijan’. The rapidly changing modernization in society is one of the major reasons these days where students especially youth are being mentally pressurized & scattering their mental health. How we should be careful enough towards it and aware others was the main agenda behind this seminar.

Amrit Pattajoshi, the HOD of Psychiatry Department of Hi-Tech Medical College, joined the seminar as chief speaker where he enlightened students on maintaining a healthy mind especially girls on sexual abuse, unwanted touch, financial crisis, love life issues, losing a dear one, exam pressure & results, cyber frauds, job and many more leading them to a very disturbed mental state. This often leads to suicidal thoughts as well. To get on with it one must focus stabilizing the mind first.

The event was coordinated by Sandhya Patnaik (ex-president of Inner wheel club) whereas University Vice Chancellor Prof. Aparajita Chowdhury graced the event as Chief Guest. She discussed various topics with students especially over Online; how Digital World and maximum usage of social media can turn fatal to one’s mental health.

Club’s counseling In-charge Dr. Sayantani Behera, President Meera Mahapatra and coordinator Susmita Mohanty were present throughout the seminar. ‘Mo College’ Coordinator Dr. Snehalata Das concluded the event by presenting the vote of thanks.
