Maoists kill 2 for being ‘police informers’ near Malkangiri border

Malkangiri: Armed Maoists killed two persons in Maddigaruvu Village under Pedabayalu Mandal of Andhra Pradesh near Malkangiri border suspecting them to be police informers last night.

The deceased duo has been identified as Kalakani Surya and Mukla Kishore.

Around 15 to 20 heavily armed members of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group dragged Surya and Kishore from their respective houses in the village late in the night yesterday. Later they killed the duo in full public view by firing bullets on their heads.

Maoists also left a letter behind before leaving, justifying the killings by branding the deceased duo to be police informers. They also warned the villagers of the same consequences in case they opt to turn police informers.

The killings by Maoists in the bordering village of Andhra Pradesh have left people in Malkangiri in a state of panic and they have demanded immediate action on the ultras.

Meanwhile, police have intensified combing in the forests of Malkangiri bordering Andhra Pradesh as a precautionary measure against similar attacks.
