Koraput: A 24-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her drunk husband over a family dispute in Dhoudapadar village under the Koraput Sadar Police limits here on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Parbati Kamar (24).
Sources said that Parbati was married to accused Kartik Takiri and was his second wife and they have a two-month-old daughter.
Kartik murdered his wife by severing her head off her body with a sharp weapon in inebriated state on Sunday late night over a dispute.
On being informed, Koraput Sadar police reached the village, seized the body and arrested Kartik for murder.
The irked villager protested over this incident and demanded justice for the woman.
