The much-awaited Lower Suktel Irrigation Project has been inaugurated by the Chief Minister. In addition, the CM has inaugurated 112 projects worth Rs. 2220 crores and shall lay the foundation stones.

The Suktel project will be the lifeline of irrigation in Balangir and Sonepur districts. Reports say that, 40 thousand hectares of agricultural land in Balangir and Sonepur districts will be irrigated.

The problem of drought in this area will be eliminated completely. In addition, the problem of drinking water in the district can also be solved. For 23 years, there has been a dispute over the development of the Suktel project. But, the project has finally been inaugurated by the CM.
