KVs To Provide Free Education To Kids Who Have Lost Parents To Covid

Bhubaneswar: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to give free education to children who have lost both their parents to the Covid.

The decision has been taken following Centre’s directives to KVS to give admissions to such children across the country under the PM Cares for Children Scheme.

The scheme is aimed at ensuring comprehensive care and protection of these children and enabling their wellbeing through health insurance.

According to reports, the DM can recommend a maximum of 10 students per school under which,  two students can be admitted per class.

The children would be provided education free education from class 1 to class 12 meaning, they would be exempted from tuition fees.

The Union Ministry of Education has made a list of 4,058 registered eligible beneficiaries under PM Cares Children Scheme.

There are as many as 1,240 KVs or Kendriya Vidyalayas in India and three abroad in Kathmandu, Tehran and Moscow.

It is noteworthy that the MP quota has been scratched incase of KVs.
