Jagan Reddy sworn in as Andhra Pradesh CM

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

Governor E.SL. Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Chief Minister at a special ceremony held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here. He is the second Chief Minister of the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao and DMK president M.K. Stalin were present in the swearing-in ceremony, attended by around 40,000 people.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated on taking oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.



In his maiden address as CM of Andhra Pradesh, Reddy announced that he would create one lakh  60,000 jobs by October this year and fill up 4 lakh gram volunteers from August 15th.

The Chief Minister assured that he would implement Navaratnalu – a total of nine promises – a key aspect in his election manifesto in letter and spirit.

Sources said, Reddy’s Council of Ministers is likely to be sworn in on June 7.
