Bhubaneswar: The IT raid in Odisha enters 5th day and the counting of notes still continues in Balangir linked to Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu. The amount is likely to be more than Rs 300 crore figure.

Sources say, more counting machines and manpower have been engaged at State Bank of India (SBI) Main Branch in Balangir, where a team of officials continued with the counting of the cash found in the remaining 71 of the total 176 bags seized during raids on premises of linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu.

The Income Tax Department has deployed about 40 large and small machines and brought in more department and bank staffers.

Yesterday, the Income Tax teams seized three more bags from Dheeraj Sahu’s premises in Ranchi, while nearly 19 bags of money were seized from the house of  his manager in charge of the maintenance of liquor factories in the areas of Odisha. The amount recovered from manager’s house was expected to cross Rs 20 crore.
