IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall over these districts of Odisha, check details

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over some districts of Odisha.

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over some districts of Odisha.

The weatherman has issued a yellow warning saying heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Puri between 8.30 AM of November 16 to 8.30 AM of November 17.

Likewise, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Ganjam, Khurda, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal during the same period of time, informed the IMD.

Yellow warning for heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) also has been issued for some isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Kendrapada between 8.30 AM of November 17 to 8.30 AM of November 19.

The weather department said that the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman-Nicobar Islands lay as a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southeast & adjoining central Bay of Bengal at 1730 hours IST of today.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends upto upper tropospheric levels. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal by tomorrow, the 15th November, 2023 morning (00 UTC).

Thereafter, it would move northwestwards and may intensify into a Deep Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast on 16th November. Subsequently, it would recurve north-northeastwards and reach Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on 17th November.
