Fraud of Rs. 9.5 lakh on pretext of donating kidney in Cuttack of Odisha

In a shocking incident, there has been a fraud of Rs. 9.5 lakh on the pretext of donating kidney in Cuttack district of Odisha.

Cuttack: In a shocking incident, there has been a fraud of Rs. 9.5 lakh on the pretext of donating kidney in Cuttack district of Odisha. This incident has been reported from Ranihat area of Cuttack.

Reports say that a man identified as Markanda Nath has been detained for a fraud of Rs. 9.5 lakh on the pretext of donating a kidney to an ailing patient from Keonjhar district of Odisha.

Reports say that after both the kidneys of Kutul Majhi failed, Markanda promised to donate his wife’s kidney.  There was allegedly an agreement  of Rs.9.5 lakh and a direct cash amount of three lakh rupees.

Further it is worth mentioning that Markanda had made Kutul’s family pay the entire maintaince amount of his family over a span of one year. But later it so happened that Markanda almost vanished into thin air. After a lot of effort and with the help of the local people, Kutul and his wife managed to detain Markanda and his wife.

Later it is worth mentioning that the Manglabag police was informed about the entire incident and the police took Markanda into custody. Marknada has agreed in front of the media that he had received cash of rupees five lakh from Kutul. Detailed reports awaited.
