Four criminals arrested with arms and ammunition in Ganjam district

Golanthara Police in Odisha’s Ganjam district today arrested four criminals along with huge cache of arms and ammunition and forwarded them to the court.

Berhampur: Golanthara Police in Odisha’s Ganjam district today arrested four criminals along with huge cache of arms and ammunition and forwarded them to the court.

According to Berhampur SP Dr. Shravan Vivek, Golanthara Police conducted a raid after getting information about their plan to carry out an attack and loot and arrested the four criminals by chasing them.

The accused used to threaten people with guns and loot valuable and cash from them at Tamana Ghat, the SP said adding that huge cache of arms, ammunition including two country-made single barrel guns, 125 live bullets, 200 cartridge, gunpowder, LED splinter bulb and two deer horns were seized from their possessions.

The arrested persons have been identified as Purna Gauda, Sankar Pradhan, Balia Mallick and Brundaban Mallick. Several cases are pending against the arrestees at different police stations.

All of them were forwarded to the court after their arrest. Further probe into the case is underway by the Golanthara Police.
