Farmers’ convention ‘Krushi Odisha 2019’ to begin in Bhubaneswar today

Bhubaneswar: CM Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate ‘Krushi Odisha 2019’, the state-level annual convention of farmers at Biju Patnaik ground in Baramunda here today.

The farmers’ convention which is being held in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) will be a five day affair to conclude on January 19.

Considered as the flagship programme of Odisha Government, the ‘Krushi Odisha 2019’ is slated to organise seminars on various topics including women in agriculture, organic farming along with sea and inland fish processing, said a notification of the government earlier.

Ahead of the convention the CM on January 11, unveiled ‘Sweet Potato’ as the mascot for it taking into account the fact that, Odisha stands number one in the country in terms of sweet potato production. Sweet Potato is also used in Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath at the Srimandir in Puri.
