Durga Puja visarjan guidelines for Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, check route chart

During Visarjan, there will be strict blocking and checking along with traffic curtailment across the twin cities of Odisha.

Bhubaneswar: Durga Puja celebrations have come to an end in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. It is now time for the Visarjan ceremony. As the idols of the Goddess prepare to bid farewell from the puja pandals, the twin cities of Odisha have been issued with Durga puja guidelines.

For the Visarjan program, guidelines have been tightened. During Visarjan, there will be strict blocking and checking along with traffic curtailment across the cities.

In Bhubaneswar, a guideline has been issued that the Durga Puja visarjan will start from 3 pm tomorrow. The vehicular restrictions will be in place till 1 am or the end of the night. As per the Durga puja guidelines for Cuttack, strict traffic regulations have been imposed from 7 AM today, October 25. The rules will remain applicable until the end of Visarjan processions on October 26.

It is worth mentioning that during the Visarjan of the the Sahid nagar Durga, no vehicles will be allowed to ply on the Vani Vihar to Rupali square stretch. All the vehicles from Vani Vihar will be diverted to Acharya Vihar.

Vehicles have been prohibited on Janpath, Sachivalya Marg, for the Nayapalli immersion vehicles shall be diverted from CRP to Ekamra Kanan road.

During the visarjan of the Chandrashekharpur Maa Durga the KIIT to NALCO road has been blocked. Guidelines have been issued that those lanes will go towards Jaydev Vihar via Nandankanan road. Vehicles coming from Khurda will pass through the over bridge from the fire station.

On the other hand in Cuttack, the visarjan processes have already begun. Devi gada in Cuttack has been prepared with three temporary ponds for the immersion of the idols. All necessary arrangements have been made by the concerned authorities to ensure a smooth flow of events. As per reliable reports, over 170 puja mandaps were arranged in Cuttack this year.

Traffic guidelines have been issued by the Police Commissionerate to regulate the traffic. 55 police platoons, 8 additional DCPs, 34 DSPs, 54 inspectors, 350 SIs and ASIs have been deployed. They will be responsible for conducting the Bhasani festival with peace and order.

Further, a team of fire brigade personnel will also remain present at the Devi gada to avoid any sort of mishap. A total of 600 CCTV cameras have been installed in Cuttack for further security reasons.
