Dasmantpur IIC, ASI caught red-handed while accepting bribe
Odisha vigilance apprehended IIC and ASI of Dasmantpur police station in Koraput for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000
Koraput: The Odisha vigilance on Friday apprehended Inspector-in-charge (IIC) Chandrabhanu Mohanty and Assistant Sub-Inspector of police (ASI) Dipti Hira of Dasmantpur police station in Koraput for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant.
As per the information, the police officer demanded Rs 13,000 from a complainant to help him in a case registered at Dasmantpur police station.
The Vigilance slueths had received a complaint and as per the complainant the accused IIC and ASI was demanding a bribe of Rs 13,000. Of which, they had taken Rs 5,000 few days back and while taking the remaining bribe amount Rs 8,000 they were caught red-handed.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Dipti Hira (ASI) and has been seized.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.24/2023 U/s-7PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered.
Investigation is in progress against both the accused persons namely Sri Mohanty, IIC and Smt. Hira, ASI.Detailed report follows.
