Cuttack: In a tragic incident, a father lost his life while rescuing while his eight-year-old son from drowning at Kaibarata Sahi ghat in Naraj of Cuttack district on the occasion of Diwali.
Reports says, father and son duo had gone to Kathajodi river to take bath, when his eight-year-old son swept away and drowned. In order to save his son, father Saroj quickly went deep down to rescue his son and got stuck in quick sand. While his son came back to the shore and father got drowned.
The locals who were present in the ghat, rescued Saroj and rushed him immediately to the nearby hospital. The doctors declared him dead.
After the news of his death, a pall of gloom descended in the entire village.
