Cuttack: Bus which overturned near Gopalpur overturns again while being lifted by the crane

Cuttack: The bus which overturned near Gopalpur Chhak in Cuttack on NH-16 this evening overturned again while it was being lifted by the crane.

According to reports, the rescue team comprising the local police and the firefighters was trying to clear the road by lifting the ill-fated bus with the help of a crane. However, the bus reportedly overturned for the second time, though there were no people inside the vehicle.

The rescue team is also trying to ensure movement of vehicles on the national highway.

It is to be noted here that the private passenger bus named ‘Chandan’ bearing registration number OR 05 A J7455 reportedly overturned while going to Balasore from Bhubaneswar.

Till the filing of this reports, a total of 14 people who sustained injuries following the accident were admitted at SCB Medical College and Hospital. However, one of them died while undergoing treatment, the health condition of 13 others including 10 men and 3 women are stated to be stable.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Swain of Khalarada PS Sadar in Cuttack district.

Speaking about the arrangement for the treatment of the injured, Vice Chancellor of the hospital informed that doctors of every department have been put on alert and five ICU have been made ready to meet emergency and provide better treatment to the accident victims.
