The police have detained six people including the main accused the peon after a Class-III girl was allegedly raped in her school in Rayagada
Rayagada: The police have detained six people including the main accused the peon after a Class-III girl was allegedly raped in her school at a village under Dangasil police limits in Rayagada district.
The main accused peon Shiba Prasad Mishra have been detained in the police station to record his statement under Sec 164 and also to conduct his medical examination.
The Rayagada SDPO has intensified his investigation in this case. The minor victim’s medical examination will be conducted today.
After the incident came to fore, the villagers staged a road blockade demanding justice for the victim. Tension escalated when the police reached the spot and asked the agitating villagers to withdraw their road blockade.
Following which the police lathicharged on the villagers. The agitated mob then set the police bus on fire.
Meanwhile, two platoons of police force have been deployed at the spot.
