Checking of vehicles at night will be intensified in view of the New Year, informed Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra today.

Cuttack: Checking of vehicles at night will be intensified in view of the New Year, informed Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra today.

According to Mishra, the Commissionerate Police has erected gates at all entrances and exits of Cuttack city for checking of vehicles especially at night.

A total of 22 platoons of police force will be deployed in the city to maintain law and order and emphasis is given on mobile patrolling, the DCP said adding that strict action will be taken against open drinking, drunken driving etc. All hotels, pubs, restaurants have been directed to celebrate the New Year as per the guidelines.

A special vigilance is also kept on criminal activities, he informed.
