Tangi: Launching a crackdown on illegal drug trading police seized 56 gram brown sugar and arrested two persons by conducting a raid in Tangi area in Cuttack district yesterday.
The held peddlers have been identified as Anant Sahu and Sthiti Ranjanj Barik of Rental Colony area of Bhubaneswar.
Acting upon a tip-off on the illegal drug consignment which was en-route to an unknown location in a car bearing Registration Number-OD 02T 6418, from Tangi bus stand a joint team of Tangi Police and its Special Task force (Special Task Force) carried out a raid late in the night.
After intercepting the car and carrying out a search the cops found a packet of 56 gram brown sugar, a 9MM pistol and four live bullets and seized those. Later the accused duo was taken into custody.
Further interrogation of the held peddler duo is underway.
