Brown Sugar Worth Rs 30 Lakh Seized In Odisha, 2 Arrested

Cuttack: The Flying Squad of the State Excise sleuths arrested two drug peddlers at NH 5 near Manguli area here at around 6 AM on Monday after brown sugar weighing 280 gm, worth over Rs 30 lakh, was seized from their possession, informed an Excise official.

The drug peddlers have been identified as S K Sahid (30) and Jada Soren (24). Both are resident of Arada Bazar village under Sahder Khunta police limits in Balasore district. They were carrying the contraband consignment from Balasore to deliver it to a city based client, the official stated.

The Excise sleuths also seized two motorcycles bearing registration no OD01 T 2670 and OR 01 L 7998 from the smugglers.
Cases have been registered against the smugglers duo under section 21(c) of Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
