Cuttack: Badambadi Police in Cuttack seized brown sugar and arrested a trader ahead of the India-South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium.
According to reports, the IIC of Badambadi Police Station received credible information from a source that one Jaga Das of Bidyadharpur under Chauliaganj police station limits was standing at Balighat Gada near Jagannath Temple and he had kept brown sugar in his left side pant pocket for selling to the customers.
Based on this information, the cops conducted a raid and Jaga was apprehended. During the search, 18 grams of brown sugar and one mobile phone were seized from his exclusive and conscious possession.
In this connection, a case was registered against Jaga and investigated the matter. During the course of the investigation, the accused was arrested and was forwarded to the court today.
