Berhampur: Tension ran high in Redikasahi under Chhatrapur police limits in Ganjam district on Thursday after dead body of a local youth was found lying along a village road under suspicious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Srinu Rao. He was missing from his home for last two days after setting out to attend a friend’s marriage.
Some locals spotted Srinu’s body lying along a road located adjacent to a farmland in the village in the morning and informed his family.
Deceased’s family members suspected it to be a case of murder from the circumstantial evidences. They said the body had turned dark and the head was also found crushed with a stone pointing at inhumane torture before murder.
Police have rushed the body for autopsy and started investigation with the help of scientific team.
