According to reports, the body of a two-year-old boy was found floating in a pond in Jaleswar block of Balasore district in Odisha. The body has been spotted in Kosadia village under Basta police limits.
It is worth mentioning that the two-year-old boy had gone missing while playing in the village on Thursday, said reliable reports.
The Basta police has reached the spot after being informed about the shocking incident by the local villagers. It is however suspected that the child might have slipped into the pond and drowned, said preliminary investigation.
The police has recovered the body an sent it for postmortem. The cause of the death will be ascertained after the postmortem reports are obtained.
The family of the boy has been devastated following the incident. A pall of gloom has descended on the village. A probe is underway in this matter. Detailed reports awaited.
