BMC Arranges Accommodation For Aspirants Of 120 Infantry Battalion Recruitment Drive
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has arranged accommodation with basic facilities like drinking water and toilets for aspirants participating in the recruitment drive of 120 Infantry Battalion.
The civic body swung into action after pictures of hundreds of job seekers spending the night on the footpaths in various areas of the Bhubaneswar went on viral on social media platforms.
The civic body has decided to accommodate the job seekers in various places including Unit 8 Community Centre, Shastrinagar Community centre, Kalyan Mandaps in Unit VI, Badagada, VSS Nagar and Chandrasekharpur.
“A temporary tent facility of 50 to 60 thousand sq.feet is being also set up near the old AG colony with facilities of temporary toilets and drinking water. Interested candidates can avail these facilities free of cost,” said a BMC official.
Earlier the Commissionerate police too have come forward to help the job seekers and have arranged shelter for them. Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi has also urged the charitable groups to arrange food for the aspirants. The recruitment drive which started from Monday will continue till October 24 and it is expected that around 10000 aspirants will participate in the recruitment drive.
