BJD grabs Berhampur Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor post as party candidate Vivek Reddy elected

Berhampur: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which won the Mayor seat in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), also grabbed the Deputy Mayor post as its candidate E Vivek Reddy was elected for the post today.

E Vivek Reddy, who is the Corporator of Ward No.42 of BeMC, won the Deputy Mayor election after getting 34 votes and defeating BJP’s D Karunakar.

On the other hand, BJD’s Sanghamitra Dalei was sworn-in as the new Mayor of BeMC. She was elected as the Mayor after defeating BJP’s Sabita Suar with a margin of 20,236 votes.

The Deputy Mayor election for Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be held tomorrow (April 9).
