Bird and crocodile census to begin in Satkosia of Odisha

Satkosia: The annual bird and crocodile census shall start in Satkosia gorge in Angul district of Odisha, said reliable reports on Friday.

According to reports, the crocodile census will be conducted from January 6 to January 8, 2024. The bird census will however start from January 10. The entire are has been divided into 15 sectors for the census.

Reports say that, country boats shall be used for the census so that the birds and crocodiles in the area are not disturbed. The census will be done in Satkosia Wildlife Enclosure, Athagarh, Mahanadi, Athmallik Forest Division.

Further it is worth mentioning that a ban has been imposed on fishing in Mahanadi till the census has been completed.
